OMG! I was a little worried, but clearly I'm going to enjoy season 5! I was *expecting* to like it, but even so it was wonderful to have it confirmed! :)

All of my British friends (which is like half of my flist) are TORTURING ME. Because my internet has been inexplicably slow the last couple of days, and IT IS TAKING FOREVER TO DOWNLOAD. EVERYONE QUIT TELLING ME HOW AWESOME IT IS.
No. My internet at home quit working entirely. I have half of the episode downloaded, which took twenty hours, give or take. Seriously. And now it doesn't work at all. Isn't that exciting?
That makes me feel a bit better. This whole 'I live in the country that gets the episode FIRST' is still something that makes me squee... Throughout Buffy's run we had to wait and wait. (Although on the plus side we didn't have to deal with hiatus.)
I had another friend say he didn't change, he was just acting like Tennant, but there were so many differences from Tennant as well as the similarities. It's like the beginning of 10, when Tennant had Eccleston similarities but was there were differences too.
*nods* It always carries over a bit, although - some of the lines apart - he never reminded me overly of Tennant to be honest. I think people see what they want to see.
Yeah, I had thought Matt did a very good start on making the character his own. In fact, he had things that reminded me off all the Doctors before him in little ways - his lines to Amelia about Don't ask stupid questions etc.. that reminded me more of 9 than 10 for example. I hate to say I'm not as immersed in the Classic Who as I am the new series, but I did watch enough to see that Eleven seems to combine alot of the past, not just 10.
and yeah, she got upset over the trailer and the daleks and cybermen in it.. she was all, Moffat lied! He said there'd be none of those! I'm all.. how can it be Doctor Who with none of those.. they're Classic Who too, not just Davies reboot!
