Remember To Vote!!!
6 May 2010 09:45 amSure the system is flawed, and we've not got an Obama (or a Saxon for that matter), the country is in a funk and whoever gets elected will have to make some very drastic cuts somewhere - but we still live in a democracy, and every single vote matters! So go vote - even if it's Monster Raving Loony Party. Actually they have some good ideas! :)

Our local polling station is in a small Methodist Church - very simple and bare, but with posters such as this one looking down on you as you make up your mind where to put your X:
So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Romans 14.12
I think this is not a bad thing.
(I tried to explain voting to the Cherub, using Obama as an example of people having to choose between two different things. Her response? "Can I have an Obama mask to dress up in?" But then I guess these concepts are a little beyond 4 year olds... *g*)
I was going to write more (Think of the BBC!!!), but school just called and said that Miss M is not feeling well and could I come and get her? I swear she was FINE when we said goodbye less than an hour ago, and I JUST GOT IN!
*grumbles and puts on shoes and coat again*
See you later.
ETA: V. interesting article (whether you agree with it or not) from The Times here: Unsure how to vote? My contortions may help
