The Reproaches

This is one of my favourite pieces of music, and I look forward to it every year.

Rehearsal video of a version of the Good Friday Reproaches (No251 in the Laudate Hymnal).
This was recorded as part of my practice after mass so the microphone is off. I just like the sound of the church to practice in.

I spent AGES searching for a good rendition last year, and this one was the best one. Even though it's 'only' a rehearsal - the tune and the lyrics are just amazing. And suits the pared down approach.

I look forward to it all year.

In church, we have soloists for the verses and then the whole choir/congregation joins in for the refrain - like the swell of the sea, rising up. It's gorgeous.
